Hydroponics
Greenfields Farmers uses a hydroponic systems to grow cannabis. What exactly are 'hydroponics'? Glad you asked. Whether you're new to hydroponics growing or looking for a refresher, we hope this page will help give you a better idea of what we're doing at Greenfields Farmers.
Saving Water
Boost Productivity
Hydroponic growing typically utilises 90% less water than more traditional methods. By starting to grow hydroponically, you're not only working for a better product but being able to do it in a more sustainable manner as well - conserving critical resources, recycling waste water, and saving money.
The tools provided by hydroponic growers offer a steady stream of output (and income) in a standardised and orderly manner. With a repeatable hydroponic process, communities will be able to work together and learn from one another, and there will be a higher yield of higher quality output.
Grow All Year
Inside a hydroponic system, growing conditions can be stipulated to allow for continuous farming year-round. Without having to worry about uncontrollable elements such as amount of water or sunlight, the hydroponic method allows us to manage these elements for optimal growing.
Improved Output
Participating in hydroponic growing allows farmers great control over their products as opposed to leaving it up to the elements. This means a great reduction in pesticides getting into the crop, maintaining uniformity in output, and keeping harmful elements out of the final product.
